As a technology leader, I oversee daily IT operations and strategically plan for the future IT needs of a world-class healthcare company.
- Designed and lead the implementation of a scalable IT platform that supports the rapid growth of our company. Over the past 20+ years, we’ve maintained satisfied customers, strong transactional partnerships, and engaged business stakeholder.
- Work closely with the technology and business teams to deliver digital solutions that add bottom line value.
- In partnership with the CIO, recruit, lead and manage a 17-person full time IT team comprised of technology solutions, business alignment professionals, cybersecurity and technology infrastructure. The team is augmented with a number of consultants.
- Led the design and implementation of a comprehensive risk mitigation strategy that includes both on-site fail-over and offsite disaster recovery measures.
- Work with CISO to develop,implement and maintain a robust cybersecurity plan.
- Provide technical leadership for the company’s inaugural B2C and B2B e-commerce sites. Additionally, I serve as the expert advisor of seven websites, including hosting, design, and maintenance.
- On going vendor neogitions that result in top tier solutions at the best possible cost.

Collaborated with two additional business technologists to offer comprehensive business and technology consulting services to mid-size organizations. During this period, our company expanded significantly, growing from three clients to twenty-five within just three years.
- Prepared IT operations review for manufacturing company; added value of $150,000 per year.
- Developed requirements and guided e-commerce implementation for a 25 year old distribution company with annual sales of $60 million.
- Served as interim technology leader for manufacturing and distribution companies.

- Leadership of a 30 person decentralized IT group.
- Spearheaded the successful implementation of an ERP solution across three divisions. As a result, we achieved accessible information, reduced inventory values, and enhanced customer service

- Director of Information Systems for an international beverage and food company
- Co-led a technical team during the implementation of distribution software that served 27 distribution centers. The system delivered an annual value of $900,000
- Consultant for small to mid size companies in manufacturing, distribution, services, home building and not for profits.
- Facilitated annual IT summit meeting for key business unit managers.
- Worked with team to reduce the application backlog from 24 to 6 months as a result of joint planning with business leaders.

2006-Present
- Since 2008, I’ve served on the board of Jesus in Haiti Ministries. During 2015-2018, my wife and I spent several weeks in Haiti, hosting visiting teams, establishing operational processes, and collaborating closely with the Haitian leadership.
- In 2022 I launched a podcast, Dan the Road Trip Guy with the mission of recording the stories of other people. The episodes follow a format of of recording stories about cars, roadtirps, careers, bucket lists and life advaice. On occassion, I record a short story from my own experiences. I am resonsbile for the entire process, inviting guests, recording, editing and production.
- Since 2006 I have served as the pit out steward for an annual one-week auto endurance event.
- Developed and deliver a presentation titled “Staying Cyber Safe in a Connected World” in various settings around Cincinnati. This is high level presentation of the basics of personal cybersecurity. The average audience size is 40 people. The goal is to present 4-8 times per year.
- Since the early 2000’s, I have partnered with others to build websites based on HTML, WordPress and .net technologies. A number of these projects have been for not-for-profit organizations at no cost.

First Auto Race as Spectator: 1976 Indianapolis 500
First Job: Working in the family grocery store at 9 years of age, started by my grandmother, operated by my Uncle Earl (who I miss greatly)
First Motor Bike: 5HP Rupp Mini Bike, because my dad loved American brands
What I Wanted To Be as a Child: Owner/Operator of Big Rigs or the owner of a chain of grocery stores, never did either. I love the open road and visiting grocery stores though
Favorite Sports Team: Atlanta Braves (because my parents loved the Braves and we saw games at the Fulton County Stadium)
Sports on TV: Open Wheel Racing, Final Games of Playoffs(sometimes)
Favorite National Park: Glacier (so far)
Something That Might Surprise People: I was a runner in the 70’s and early 80’s before running was popular. Everything from 5K to marathon distance
